Karate classes
taught at the Double Dragon Dojo are for men, women, and
children of all ages.
The style is Shuri-ryu,
known as the ancient karate of Okinawa, which is a complete
martial art and a way of life, rather than a sport.
|
It encompasses
karate used as a sport for exercise, competition, and recreation,
plus it possesses the most devastating self-defense potential
of any system.
Students are taught under positive
reinforcement, with each one working to their own potential. They
develop self-esteem and confidence with the understanding of physical
and mental control, and the ability to deal with unhealthy peer
pressure. "RESPECT FOR ALL THINGS AND A NON-VIOLENT ATTITUDE TOWARDS
OTHERS," is highly stressed. The Japanese language is taught and
used in all classes
with some introduction to writing.
